Our First Project - Kenyan Dental Clinic

Naivasha, Kenya, is a city of over 100,000 people about two hours from Nairobi. Naivasha has no reliable dental care. People that need care have to travel to Nairobi and pay exorbitant fees. In addition, Naivasha is in the Great Rift Valley, which has very high fluoride levels in the well water. These high levels turn teeth brown, and in severe cases, makes the enamel very soft.
We built a dental clinic in the center of town, which opened in 2009.
We brought in a Kenyan dentist to work in the clinic, and they work full time.
When Dental/Medical missions teams come, the dentist will act as a translator,
as well as get continuing education and instruction from the visiting dentists.
This is a example of Social Entrepeneurship, where locals are helped to be able to help themselves and their communities, in a manner that is self-sustaining.
